Before we are able to start teaching, we must know how to get a job as a college professor. There are two basic approaches to landing teaching contracts, the haphazard approach and the structured approach. Both methods can work, however, they have different levels of efficiency. Thus, a good strategy is to become an adjunct professor and then apply for a full-time position when it becomes available.
Regardless of the approach that is taken, planning alone will not result in teaching contracts; you must take action and contact the institutions. Often this is the hardest part of the process. A little progress every day will lead you to a career as an academician.
